  1. OK, that synopsis is better than the earlier one I read that said the CIA tasks McG with bringing back his mother – because, WHAT?

  2. I always thought that the show writers might have Doris would die in Steve’s arms as an easy fix to her story, but I never for one moment believed that AOL would be the one to write that script. So, I am hoping that Doris gets away-again- because this Navy S.E.A.L has lost enough in his life and I can’t see AOL killing Steve’s Mom.

Alex seems to have a close relationship with his own Mom so I can’t see him writing that scenario into the script.

  3. I am so looking forward to this episode. I’m sure it will be great. As well as being the writer and director, and acting also, I hope Alex had a hand in the editing process, too. Others (I won’t say
    who), could muck it up.

  4. Not so sure that Daris will survive this episode.
Alex always asked for Wo Fat to be killed off, to resolve the character’s story.
In a SOTB interview he said that he thinks Steve should die at the end.
So my deduction would be that, by his way of thinking, he might feel that Doris needs to die to resolve her story.
    I do hope I am wrong …..

  5. DNA is such an awesome title! So many possiblities.
Family is not always about DNA. There are stronger bonds than DNA.
DNA connects you but not ultimately.
DNA oblige, up to a certain point.
Sometimes you feel you have to do something because of it, but your heart isn’t in it.
And maybe, maybe, sometimes DNA doesn’t match.
Am I the only one who wouldn’t mind if Doris dies? She is his biological mother, but Joe’s death was a deeper loss than Doris’s would be. He is used to her being dead. He survived other losses, he will survive this one.
And Alex will rock these scenes!
But whatever will happen, this storyline is the essence of H50, Alex knows this very well although tptb seemed to have forgotten.

    1. I also to not mind Doris being killed, or doubt that Steve will get over it.
My problem with it is exactly about what you mentioned – because it is the essence of H50 and Steve’s story, it would be sad to see it killed off. Yet again another storyline of Steve just gone.

And I would also like Alex to rock scenes that are not just about dying or severe action drama and trauma, but of resolving real human feelings without loss yet again – if that makes any sense.

      1. I am on team –Keep Doris Alive. They need to resolve this story somehow but death seems a bit extreme. Whatever happens, you can be certain that it was done with PL’s approval and that AOL didn’t go rogue. So even if AOL did write the final chapter for Doris and I sincerely hope he did not, then it looks to me that PL is doing some housekeeping here and tying up loose story lines that languished while we were subjected to a lot of nonsensical episodes. To me that means the end may be near.

If Doris does die, then I hope she also tells Steve why Joe lied to him all those years, because Joe never did, and if John knew she was alive which I have always believed. If the intent is to destroy McGarrett by killing another person he loves, (and he does love her) then they should do it all at once and not by lingchi or death by a thousand cuts. I cannot stand the slow torture of this character any longer.

  6. I have some idea what might happen based on some script pages that were released several months ago. (I wouldn’t put it past the PTB to have released these pages). When I posted these pages on my site way back when (and you had to drill down through multiple levels of links to read them) I got the usual abuse from people who think that there are spoilers and there are spoilers. Anyway, what may happen to Doris is not nice, though it’s quite possible that these leaked pages were just another red herring…
