9.03 Review-ish post

9.03 – Mimiki ke kai, ahuwale ka papa leho

Crime spikes when a heat wave hits Oahu, causing McGarrett and Danny to hunt down a bank thief, and Tani and Junior’s car is stolen while they’re on duty. Also, Grover plays the golf game of a lifetime, and Kamekona incites a riot by price-gouging on his shave ice, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Oct. 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

CBS translated Mimiki ke kai, ahuwale ka papa leho to When the Sea Draws Out the Tidal Wave, the Rocks Where the Cowries Hide Are Exposed

To be honest, this was an episode I’d rather forget. And I surely will not waste my time with a full review.

I am sorry to say, but this was one of the worst episodes ever. It was ridiculous from start to finish. In my eyes beneath anything Five-0 has delivered so far.

You know, we had an unusual hot summer here, with temperatures around 100° for weeks, without any rain or cooling wind. But I didn’t see any of my coworkers sitting around in the buff at their desks. And we generally don’t have ACs. That was one of the most stupid scenes ever.

I also didn’t see any totally frustrated and miffed people because of the hot weather. There was no aggressiveness behind the wheels, or anywhere for that matter. It was hot. So what?! People get all bend out of shape because of it? I do understand that the elderly, sick people and children have trouble handling long periods of heat. But professionals going crazy after a couple of days of high temperature? Give me a break.

And all this blablablabla at the restaurant? Shoot me now.

Really, enough said about this absolutely boring and stupid episode.

And remember, if you liked it, good for you.

I will never watch that episode again, that’s for certain. Not even to crab a couple of screenshots. Although I did hear some very interesting reactions to the episode, which were actually the highlights of it. 😉

Let’s just hope this was the fail for this season and happily move on to number 9.04 😊

  1. I don’t even have to rethink my reaction to this one. I had my attention wander while it was on so it doesn’t score high with me. This is Hawaii for Pete’s sake, hot should not be a surprise. I would have expected everyone to be at the beaches. I was pleased that Kamekona learned a lesson about greed. On to the next please.

  2. I agree. It was a complete let down after the first 2 epi. Both Tani and Junior are supposed to be native Hawaiians and they seemed to be the most effected? I live in a climate that is always hot and humid with no tradewinds and NEVER has anyone showed up to work in a bikini top or sat at their desks naked. NEVER. Why was she hot in her car that had air conditioning? I get they were going for the humor but it came off more stupid and lazy than anything else. I barely remember the COTW. And Lou was acting like an A$$. The saddest part is they filmed this epi first so one would think the writing and acting would be fresh . Not.

  3. I give it one star. Because tongue and no christmas tree has suffered.
And I still think it could have been saved if Steve had changed clothes with little green skirt statue. A missed opportunity if you ask me. I mean, if Tani could run around in a bra at work, Junior being even nake-a$$ed, why not Steve in a tiny tiny green skirt that doesn’t fit around his hips? Just saying… Let me quote Gene Kelly: *let it swing*.

  4. Your review-ish mimics the acting-ish, writing-ish, lame-ishness of the epsiode. Stupid filler – already in season 9

And to Leni’s comment that this was filmed first when they came back from hiatus – If i were one of the actors I’d have been thinking – “I came back to work for THIS?”

Alex was right – it’s not fine art. It’s barely kindergarten fingerpainting

  5. What was the point in wasting time and money on this episode? Lou was an insensitive idiot, Kamekona was channeling his criminal past by price gouging during ( an improbable) weather crisis and I won’t bother about how stupid Junior and Tani behaved with their clothing choices.

Anyone who truly cares about this show recognizes that the writers are capable of much better stories and want them to give the viewers their best. These are talented, capable professionals but they going for slapstick which is not funny when it is over used. A knee-jerk reaction by some members of the fandom to praise mediocrity in the name of loyalty is what gave us 903. A good teacher would have returned the script with a red X through it and a note requesting a parent conference.

  6. Please no more restaurant. It is getting and dragging on. Really love Lou but felt bad for his caddy. He really could had let his caddy go home. But no he had to have that game. Junior and Tani really am shipping them. But hope Junior does not have control issues but that is just a military thing I think.
Hope you are doing well Mostly Five 0. And that thanks for your reviews as always. Happy Halloween!

  7. Ok, when i think of stupidest, most boring show ever, three stupid men on vacation still tops my list. And i think this one deserves at least one star for the tongue photo i got from it. Everything else… meh.

  8. I guess I can live with one awful episode a season. Did you catch that 5-0 writers? ONE awful episode. You played that card for 9.03. The rest of the season will be five star episodes.
    Right? Please.

  9. I liked the episode very much especially seeing Alex all hot and sweaty and then him all wet standing in the rain yes please.

  10. This was pretty much the second worst episode ever. It’s only topped by the three stupid men.
What a waste of time and money. The land of the A/Cs suddenly going crazy because of a little sun? Yeah right….
I would’ve been so embarrassed, had this been the SOTB premier. Grateful for small favors.
I really hope this was the one awful epi we get this year. I just want to forget about it.
    Next please.
