  1. No Danny there! But this should be a blast. As Catherine and Steve are meant to be. Really hate it that the writers are messing with the will they or won’t they thing. Come on team McCatherine!

  2. I like the idea of backstory on Junior but not mixed with Catherine’s return. Divided episodes tend to give us not enough of either story. I guess that means the writers can coast through anything meaningful and just tease viewers. However, this is one episode that I am looking forward to.

Any scoop on Catherine’s return to Hawaii Five-0? —Jen
When Catherine (played by Michelle Borth) returns in the Friday, April 13 episode to enlist McGarrett and his particular set of skills to track down some hidden munitions, “We got to get a little closure,” Alex O’Loughlin says. Having previously danced around the fact that he was about to propose when she skipped out of town on a secret mission, this time they delve a bit more into the missed opportunity. Afterward, O’Loughlin says, “They sort of go, ‘We always were great friends; maybe we shouldn’t have slept together in the first place. But it’s good to be friends again.’

    1. Geez, guys, keep your cool. This doesn’t mean sh/t.
He doesn’t write the show and he has no influence on the story line.
And he doesn’t watch the show. He has no idea what will happen in the future.
I suggest wait until you all have actually watched the episode.

      1. I admit I was not pleased by this. I do believe eventually Mcroll will be endgame of some sort but meanwhile we have to deal with “closure” every time she appears. I truly wish Lenkov would fill Alex in on his plan. Poor guy must have been damaged by a love at some point in his life. At least we will have this one episode with a great character being the badass female the show needs. The others can celebrate for now. The one thing I do know for sure is McD will NEVER actually happen. McRoll may happen one day.

    2. What the hell does “they sort of go” mean? Alex looked like he was being blindsided by the interviewer and struggling to get out an answer. Where is the rest of that interview.? Isn’t this the same writer who declared Catherine the worst girl friend ever? Not too biased, right? What’s his agenda?

  4. I have a feeling Alex will have a say it what is going to happen with McRoll now. Peter has just said that Alex has written episode 8.24 as well as directing episode 8.18 witch is great for Alex so for season 8 and 9 if we get it Alex will have more say what is happening in the show. I wish Alex loved the story line of McRoll and not trying to finish it for good.

    1. Alex will have nothing to say about what happens to McRoll or the direction of any other story line. Neither CBS, nor PL will ever give anyone,, especially an actor, the power to interfere with the Showrunner’s plan or try to pressure him to change direction of the show. .That would set a precedent for the network leading to chaos.. Alex will either play the role as written or he can choose to leave. I think Alex is too smart and experienced to believe he can try that and be successful. He will put his family’s welfare and his health first, not some make believe story line.

Alex can negotiate more time off and more money and perhaps direct another episode. That is all. Most producers you see listed on TV shows have just the title and no power. The title doesn’t come with the right to call the shots. He can suggest stories but he is not a writer. PL doesn’t have to accept hem if they do not fit into his own vision for his show.

There seems to be some notion in the McDanno fandom that if Scott doesn’t sign Alex won’t either. That’s just nonsense. If Alex doesn’t sign it will because he and CBS can’t agree on terms. It has nothing to do with Scott. It has to do with what Alex wants and what CBS is willing to give him.

  5. I’m really looking forward to this episode. It will be interesting to see some of Juniors back story. I’m not quite sure about Jerry in the jungle, but I’ll wait and see. So far, it looks like a great episode!😊

  6. I can’t wait for episode 20 and we see Catherine on screen I have missed her alot. I always love her FIGHT scenes. I hope she comes back in Season 9 if their is one. But they are still Friends even IF they are NOT lovers anymore. And I love all of the pictures. They still have chemistry together.

  7. Catherine looks awesome and I can’t wait to see this one!

As for the “interviews” etc…. I’m not going to get all worked up yet. One site says it’s”romancing the stone”, another quotes alex that “they kinda go…just friends” and then we get CBS with their “are you rooting for McRollins cheat tweet – it’s like ping pong. LOL.

      1. I don’t believe anything I read in print because the writer’s include their own bias as part of the story or interview. I refuse to give credence to anything a McDanno or abC thinks. There thoughts are irrelevant !!! I can’t and won’t put blame on Alex for the first TVline interview because it’s obvious the writer is a McDanno fan. Why blame a actor for a scoop with a writers bias? Isn’t there a difference between a scoop that has a couple of provocative quotes and a full interview where you see the questions being ask? Looking forward to the episode !!

        1. Well, the last time Alex said “closure” for 707 and this time “sort of closure” which translates into he hasn’t a clue. Let’s see how PL edits the final episode.

If Alex wants Scott’s “now you MAY see me. now you only THINK you see me” deal, I hope the McDannos and the abC’s realize only one of them can get that. So if they give Alex the same deal Scott has now, what happens to Scott?. Somebody has to show up for work.

The last thing I want to hear is that CBS cancels the series because they need the studio for Magnum PI.

            1. It was great to see Michelle and it was cool to pick up where we left off” – Alex O’Loughlin

            2. The poor abC’s. How do they adjust to “It was great to see Michelle and it was cool to pick up where we left off”? I am sure they are having a frantic meeting trying to find a way to spin that. Could they have been WRONG about how Alex felt about working with Michelle? Wonder what else they are wrong about? Do they hate Alex now?

I am looking forward to 818 because i want see if we will get a hint at Danny’s future with Rachel. Maybe he still loves her? Won’t that put a spoke in some people’s wheels!

Writing them out by having them move to New Jersey sounds promising and gives c l o s u r e to McDanno..

“gentle closure” ? Now Alex has given us three versions of closure, none of which mean “its over”! LOL. I think this just means she left again after this new mission they shared. We still do not know why she really left, only that she didn’t want to go. Apparently, like the rest of us, Alex has to wait for that script to be written.in S9. Lovers have to also be friends, or it’s just meaningless sex—like Lynn..

McRoll is still endgame because that;s how the boss wants it.

  8. Can someone show me where Alex said repeatedly that McRoll as a couple is over and a mistake? Someone has told me this, but I just think different interviews and such have been taken out of context and other fandoms interpretations have ruined anyone knowing the full truth. Transcripts of interviews should be made available to read so assumptions aren’t construed as fact.

    1. I think I read in TV Guide online that Alex stated that his feeling that McGarrett would be foolish to take Catherine back. I am paraphrasing it from memory and I don’t know where TV Guide got the interview. He did however say that he didn’t write the scripts and would do what he was directed to do whatever the storyline. He also never said he disliked Michelle although that is what a certain group of fans believed.

  9. YAY Catherine is BACK saw the preview I was looking at Steve’s FACE and he looks VERY HAPPY when he is with Catherine. I hope that their is a Season 9 and we see alot more of Michelle

    1. If PL didn’t kill off this character since 421 and keeps bringing her back and has also said that she will be there to the end of the series, then no matter what spin the online interviewers give on any of AOL’s interviews, we will see Cath back for S9. (If there is a Season 9 and if AOL re-signs )

I know it is hard for abC’s to understand this concept, but Alex does not write the scripts and doesn’t see one until he is handed it. He has no idea of where a story is headed until they tell him. What he would do in real life is his choice. What McGarrett does is PL’s choice. Otherwise, the Super Fans who keep harping on the word “closure”, which I put into Alex’s vocabulary along with things like “super cute”, need to consider that the only one who controls this story is PL and his actions indicate he is not done with McRoll.

Frankly, if I were a McDanno fan I’d be more concerned with the very real possibility that “Danno” is being written out so he can ride off into the sunset with Rachel. It sure looked like a clue to me in 818. The character is hardly ever there anyway so he won’t be missed by the real viewers who count–the Friday night “I had a rough day, just entertain me” demographic.

  10. WOW 2 more day until we see Steve and Catherine in ACTION I can’t wait I love them together. They have chemistry together. I want them back together. And if we get Season 9 I want to see Catherine back.

      1. How can he commit to Lynn when it was so obvious that he and Cath are still in love with each other?

Ellie was just his “buddy” . Lynn is just “casual” (OK to have fun with, as in… just… sleep… with) BUT he bought a ring for Cath.

Grover’s eye rolls and sotto voce comments reminded me of what Steve did when Danny was spending time with Rachel after he found out she was getting a divorce. Steve kept trying to discourage him by saying it wasn’t a good idea. Looks like Danny didn’t listen. Neither will the Sailor. McRoll is still rolling along.

        Save the Date Card——Season 9.

          1. My verdict: Best episode of the season. It was old time Steve and Cath, teasing each other, trying to out do each other, and trusting each other to get out of a dangerous situation alive. And did you SEE Michelle’s arms!!! I am so jealous. She’s not only beautiful but she is also physically strong.

Yeah, she’s been “sort of” dating and he’s been “sort of” keeping his relationship with “what’s her name” casual. Notice they both were curious enough to ask. What beautiful children they will have.

There seems to be a lot of disappointment in certain parts of the fandom. Anyone who saw closure is in denial.

Also it seems most of the fandom is happy about Harry’s return in 821. I know why I am happy to see him but cannot fathom why the McDannos are. I hope he takes up permanent residency on Oahu. There may be a job opening.

            1. I enjoyed it and didn’t even mind Jerry’s role. He stayed out of the picture enough to give Steve and Cath time to talk. Those two tried too hard to say they’ve moved on.

            2. Mama, I agree 100%. I absolutely LOVED Steve and Cath together!
              “Closure” yeah right.😉
I LOVED this episode! It was well worth the wait. Steve’s smile while discussing “catching up” with Grover says it all.😊
When Jerry suggested that they just go home, I actually laughed. Steve and Cath quit? NEVER! 😎

  11. I have been checking around and it looks like the overwhelming response to Cath’s return was very positive. The exceptions were the usual cast of misogynists who are the McDannos or abC’s. They expected their own version of closure but got something very different instead. Of course they are unhappy. One and done is now six and really not done.

But to be kind, two weeks ago they expected Danny to be a hero but got the Danny who took advantage of an abused woman by accepting sex as a thank you. It must have been difficult for them to acknowledge how their fave behaved, even if it was only to themselves. And I don’t care what they accuse Cath of, Danny’s behavior was far worse than even that of Doris or Rachel. And that says an awful lot. Keep in mind, I am still being kind.

The saddest comments made were that Cath apparently speaks up and isn’t intimidated by Steve and treats him and expects to be treated as an equal. WTF do you think some of us have been working for all these years? And BTW, he is not her boss. It was her mission and he agreed to assist.

Instead of being annoyed, I am saddened that they believe that women should behave as though they are chattel, subservient to an Alpha male, and forgetting that there are also Alpha women. You can find them in all walks of life if you just look around.

If you want to point fingers at someone who does not follow orders, challenges his boss’s authority and puts the lives of his fellow task force members at risk, you need look no further than Danny.

    1. I am amazed at the continued insistence that Catherine has told Steve many, many lies. They imply she broke his heart repeatedly when he never gave her any hint he was becoming more serious about their relationship. Heck, the episode before 6:03 Steve wouldn’t leave the office with her because business came first. At least I think that was 6:02 with the arsonist. They have chosen to hate her and can’t see what actually happened. The Koop-aid lady really had her poison pen out, I couldn’t get past the beginning of her review.

      1. Why would you even read that crap? For some people, this show is their whole life. If stirring the cauldron is they have and a tweet from the boss makes their lives bearable, let them have it. It’s not really Cath they hate. It is us.
