I think Alex will do a great job at his first directing gig. I hope he enjoyed doing it. Personally, I am not happy that he won’t be in the episode much for understandable reasons. And I wish it was about another story.

But I truly hope it was a great experience for him to do that. He deserves this, after putting SO much into this show. Thank you for your hard work. I really, greatly appreciate it.

  1. I’m so proud of Alex can’t wait till March 30 I have been a long time fan of his since 2098 Three Rivers up to him playing Steve McGarrett on Hawaii Five 0

  2. I’m looking forward to this episode and I wish AOL all the luck in the world. Maybe he will continue to direct as well as act and find this professionally and creatively rewarding.

Not having much faith lately in the quality of the scripts, or the desire of the writers to appeal to any but the lowest common denominator of the loud and numerically tiny misogynist super fan base, I still believe that because of AOL’s strong work ethic, he can make lemonade from any lemons they write.

    1. Trying to direct 3 SLs is a tough task for a debut. Not my favorite kinda writing, either, as it ends up leaving none of the SLs fully fleshed out. But since Danno will be a focus of one of em, better to limit his opportunity to bore me to death. 🙄

      1. Rachel’s back and so is Charlie. Look for the hint about their future together at the end of S8, because we don’t know how salary/time off negotiations are going. The only thing we do know is that CBS can and will play hardball.

          1. Sunny:

I think there will be a S9. Whether or not AOL and SC sign on remains to be seen but I think they will move heaven and earth to get Alex to stay for another year. Since he lives there and has his family there he may be willing if they give him a more flexible schedule so he could do more directing.

As far as SC is concerned, I think there is nothing more they can give him since he is already doing a “now you see him, now you don’t” schedule. Perhaps they can officially make him an occasional guest star since he has only really been recurring for the last few years. His Danny Williams character has been destroyed by making him so unpleasant and annoying that I can’t see how he can be happy with the dumb things they write for him to say. If there had ever been a bromance, it has been dead for a number of years. I hope Rachel takes Danny and their kids away to start over. Steve doesn’t need his negativity. There never was a McDanno anymore than there ever was a Dalissa or McLynn. That was fan service. I really believe that SC would rather be in L.A. where he could be doing the things he loves and fulfills him as an artist than on H50 where he probably dreads seeing a script.

Since Cath is coming back in 820, we may see the characters begin to repair their relationship. I hope so. This may also be the time we find out that Lynn is McDead. Since I have never liked what the writers and wardrobe department did to this character, either by making her look like she needed a bar of soap or dressing her like a hooker, I will be glad to see her go. There are so few female characters on this show that to present her to the viewers like that was unfair and totally unnecessary. They are also writing Tani as an obnoxious loose canon so misogyny is still alive and well on the show.

As an aside, Michelle Borth has posted some interesting things on Instagram lately. One is that she has a really big surprise coming and another of her in full makeup (she is gorgeous). I can’t help wondering if her surprise is that she is joining Magnum for some episodes putting her on Oahu and when they do the inevitable cross over with H50 she and Steve will finally get married. She is endgame. Even her detractors know that and that is why they are so bat shit crazy this week. Although, one could make a good argument that they are bat shit crazy every week.
