  1. Well, he PREPARES to propose… I’m sure he won’t do it. Something will happen and he will hide the velvet box in his drawer under his socks – but only till the end of the season. Then they’ll find their way back! Meanwhile he will have a lot of FUN! 😉

    1. LOL – Steve deserves to have fun. 🙂

I bet the phone will ring, or something equally stupid. Or she will leave for some other stupid noble cause. Sigh. As long as they will find their way back together… I’m good with that.
And if not, darn it, give Steve a good partner, one he can share his life and love with. Something he could do with Catherine, by the way. Just saying. 🙂

      1. Agreed!
If it’s Sarah, so be it! I want him happy so badly, really, he deserves it! But please, writers, make her normal! A normal woman can be strong too, she doesn’t need to be able to beat the shit outta trained man to be strong! I don’t want a second Kono, or a second Cath, make her different!

  2. I agree with all of you. If Sarah’s character is going to be around for Steve then let her be an individual, not some other superwoman. Although the pictures of her comfortably holding a rifle on a bad guy seems to be that she is not shy. I hope for the ring in the sock drawer idea……don’t have her reject him.

  3. We were already told that they will have a rocky road and want to get back together but it will be difficult. PL said so. Hence, some sort of breakup E603. It is so early in the season that PL needs drama now. He can’t have the happy ever after at this point. . As for (Lynn/Sarah) the actress seems to be a lovely person but since PL only signed her for two episodes he is not committed to her as a LI. She may not be available to shoot if he did want her bac k Not signing for more than two episodes put her return in jeopardy. . She won’t give up a possible job to sit around and wait for him to call. I am thinking that someone (Ellie or “should mind his own business Danny” with introduce them as Steve tries to move on, He may want to but I don’t think he will,

Try this exercise I use when I am trying to assess a situation and its possible outcomes. (I don’t use it for TV shows, but it is basically the same process.)

Draw a circle. Put McG in the center and draw spokes from it. On each spoke put the name of a PERSONAL connection to Steve, One for Cath. One for Doris. One for Joe. One for Mary. One for Joan and one for Aunt Deb. Don’t forget about Papa Wo Fat. That is McG’s world and that is his storyline for S6. All other characters are merely those that flit in and out of his world. Include no other members of the task force as they have their own circles. This is an entire season of storylines. When Doris comes back, so does Joe and so does Cath. And so does Wo Fat to avenge his wife’s death with Doris and his son’s death with Steve. PL said he would wrap up the Doris and Joe story this season. Steve has no time for a new LI. If she is to be Cath’s replacement, she would have been signed to more than two episodes. She is the one who announced how many she contracted for. Perhaps she shouldn’t have been so candid but I think the actress is an open and honest person. She let the cat out of the bag. TPTB must have cringed. Cath is listed as recurring and since he answered “yes” when asked if Cath and Ellie would meet and Ellie has not reappeared as yet, Cath will have to return for it to happen. So forget about the new girl. There is simply no time to develop a new storyline for them. They will flirt but she will follow Lori and Ellie into the abyss filled with discarded female characters. I am not in the least worried about Steve and Cath’s relationship.

(You can do the same for Danny with Grace, Rachel etc. and Chin and Kono share the same circle because they intersect each others lives personally and each has far fewer connections than the other two.) If you look closely you can see how their stories develop this season.

PL said he knows how the series will end. I think he formulated it last season when we were unsure of S6. Please don’t be angry with me but I think this will be the end especially since Nina Tassler stepped down. A new regime makes new decisions and there are a lot of new shows coming this season. She may have not wanted to pull the trigger before she left CBS.

So, forget what you are reading in CBS’s often misleading press releases and pay attention to what PL says and doesn’t say. He has put a lid on any information regarding Catherine and Rachel. And I just know Danny will forgive Rachel and his Mom will welcome her back with open arms instead of the cast iron frying pan I would be holding!!!!!I

    Too long. Sorry

    1. I feel bad for Rachel’s character. She started out as a good character—nothing wrong with her but a little antagonism after divorce (you know THAT never happens in real life 8-). And they effectively ended her last year as completely mean-spirited and witchy. I don’t see how they can “fix” that but I guess we’ll find out when/if they address it this year.
